    Reading about 9/11 is very miserable, but I would like to focus on writing about The Falling Man. The Falling Man was a heartbreaking picture for me to process. For someone to have to choose which way to face their death- either jumping off a building or burning alive- is very intense and devastating. All I know is that if I had to make that decision, I would die knowing I did not get to say goodbye to my loved ones and planet Earth. This photo is so heart wrenching because most people cannot relate to having to make a choice this severe. This photo made me feel sorrowful because it is very depressing for anyone to have to face their death no matter their decision. 9/11 was a day of realization for how safe our country was, and what precautions needed to be made to protect the people of our country. 9/11 will be forever remembered. This photo shows merging because there isn't an obvious difference between the background and the foreground- they are MERGED! An element in this photo is fear because the expressions of people's faces show great fright and panic. Although this picture is a merger, it does capture detailed emotions from the event.

This photo is balanced because there are about the same amount of building space in each half of the picture and the explosion is about equal too. An element in this photo is shape because the photographer captured the shape and roundness of the flames and smoke. This photo is better because of that element because it shows the depth of the explosion.

This photo represents simplicity because in the foreground you can see how the plane crashed into the building but the background is just the blue sky. An element in this photo is space because this photographer captured the whole building and skyline. This technique effects the photo because people can see much of the event happening in one picture.

This photo represents lines because behind "the falling man" the lines of the building create a simple background that point towards where the man is going- down. An element in this photo is line because the lines are leading to the man's death... This photo is very emotional because the man had two ways of dying- by burning alive or jumping off of a very tall building. The photographer really captured everyone's emotions and curiosity. How far has he fallen already? How much room does he have before he crashes into the street?

This photo is rule of thirds because the firemen are right along the grid lines of the rule of thirds. An element in this photo is texture because in the background there is much debris everywhere and it really creates a sense of bravery in the firefighters. This photo was very beneficial because of the technique. By using the rule of thirds, you are able to see the hurt firemen and the dangerous area around them.

I picked this photo as an example of framing because the blown up building creates a frame around the fireman. An element in this photo is shape. I think this because the shape of the frame in this photo really shows how destructive this event was. One effect of the photo is the feeling of thankfulness. When there is a picture of someone helping in a time of need it really makes people appreciate and realize how they are putting there life on the line to help in a time of despair.
