Sports Portfolio

Video 1: a- The photographer is Sam Adams. b- The general focus of the portfolio is to tell the different stories of the subjects in the photos. c- Three problems the judges noticed wrong with the portfolio were that some of the photos had mergers, some photos didn't have a set subject and some photos didn't give a clear image of the subject(s). d- The judges did like the backgrounds of the pictures (but would have shot the actual photos different) and the action in some of the pictures. The judges exclaimed how they wished they could combine two photos- one with a good background and one with a good action shot- to make a good photo. e-I think the photographer did a sloppy job of capturing photos. Whether it was the composition, focus, meaning, etc. the photos were not put together very well. I like the photographer because you can tell he is trying to take great shots. He is almost there!! Video 2: a-The photographer is Alyssa Schukar. b-The focus of the photos are

1. Before you go to your location, make sure to look at google maps. It will show the landscape, online photography of the place, a satellite view and street view of your preferred location. You can find so much information from just google maps. 2. An app I would download to get photographer insights and information on the sunset, rise, weather and other details(about my location) is Photographer's Ephemeris. 3. The foreground background can seem to be closer than normal together. 4. You can use an ND grad filter. 5. You should take a strong, waterproof plastic bag, cleaning cloths and microfiber towel for bad weather emergencies. 6. Pre-scouting helps with shooting because it lets you see the unique foreground and background elements. 7. The subject because it is important to see the focal point of the photograph and it needs to be clear. It is important to have the rule of thirds in the photo as well. 8. Pick the main focal point of the photo, and then add the other eleme

Merger Photo

1. The photo looks curved which can be un realistic. And we don't want unrealistic photos!!! 2. I think the football field by the track because there is a huge field with a big sky and a lot of trees, grass and open land for depth. 3. I can hold a different pose in each picture with a volleyball. In one I can set, in one I can hit, in one I can pass and in the last two I can hold the volleyball in two different poses(staying still with he ball In my hand or on my hip). 4. I could wear my volleyball uniform and put my hair up!

HDR Photography

1. The manipulations needed to make to the camera are changing the shutter speed every time to take multiple images and layer them in photoshop.  Many photographers recommend having a camera with the auto exposure bracketing feature. 2. You will need a tripod, camera and HDR photo-blending software. 3. People take HDR photos to add more depth to their photos and have a happy medium of light and dark exposure in their photos as well. 4. When the photos are merged, you will see the lightness and darkness of the pictures and the depth of the photo will expand. When you look at all the pictures together, you will see the brightest and darkest photos which show the exposure of the actual areas. When the photos blend together it causes the dark and light to blend which creates a happy medium of light and dark in the photo.
